Resume and Cover Letter Are For Different People
Resume and Cover Letter Are For Different PeopleOne of the first questions that you should ask yourself is whether your resume and cover letter are for the same person. Don't just take a resume, but instead, make sure that it is for you and the person who has hired you. If they are not the same person, your cover letter may be a waste of time. The first thing to consider when examining whether your resume and cover letter are the same is to determine who wrote the other. This is going to be your work interview, so you want to have a sincere letter in which you look like you are writing it. Additionally, it will show the hiring manager that you are interested in the position and that you would be happy to work with them. The next thing to consider is how you address the cover letter. Do you use the name of the hiring manager? Or do you use the title or job title? Be specific in your cover letter and resume. It can be easy to start using the employer's name instead of your own. Many emplo yers now use a phone number on the resume but do not want to provide one because of privacy concerns. If you are getting a telephone number from an employer, make sure to include it in your resume and cover letter. It may be sufficient to show that you live near the work location on the resume.Sometimes the resume will have certain information that the hiring manager wants to know before making a decision. For example, if you have been working for a company for a year and then a year off, the person who is looking at your resume may wonder why you came back to work in the first place. A good way to get this information is to be a little more specific in your resume and cover letter. The initial question you should ask the person who has hired you is what term's salary is being offered. In addition, the person who is reviewing your resume and cover letter may ask you if you have any additional skills that you can bring to the job. Remember that they are looking for someone who is goin g to bring something new to the job. They don't want someone who is going to be a cookie cutter. You will find that many employers like to see examples of the things that you have done in the past, even if it is just a resume. In your resume and cover letter, show them examples of the things that you are good at doing. You want them to see that you are good at what you say you are good at.Finally, the resume and cover letter should be very well written. You do not want it to be too stiff or too formal. Show them that you have fun when you are talking to them. This will help you in a job interview.
