10 ways to increase your productivity right now

10 ways to increase your productivity right now10 ways to increase your productivity right nowAs someone diagnosed with ADD who, without medication, has been able to accomplish some truly focus-dependent projects (like writing a 250-page book, for example), here are 10 ways I have found to increase productivityFollow Ladders on FlipboardFollow Ladders magazines on Flipboard covering Happiness, Productivity, Job Satisfaction, Neuroscience, and more1. Prepare before you getstartedProductivity doesnt just happen in the moment. It happens long before you even sit down and get to work. The more you prepare ahead of time, and get clear on exactly what it is you want, need, or should do, the easier and faster you will move once you start. The reason why so many people struggle with being productive is because they skip this step, and when they sit down, they expect to start flying even though they havent even decided where it is they want to fly to.2. Turn off all distractionsIt doesnt take a genius to realize that every time your phone buzzes, your e-mail pops up on your screen, your office door opens, your train of thought is ruined. We like to believe we can both participate in a group chat via text and write our best-selling novel, but the truth is, we cant - and to think we can is wishful and naive.Your best work comes insilence. Its why people retreat and take vacations away from the busyness of life - to distance themselves from distraction.3. Make your expectations flexibleThe hardest part about productivity is that we want it to exist on a static playing field. We want there to be one formal definition for being productive and we want that definition to mean we got from point A to point B. But, depending on what youre working on, sometimes you have to take the scenic route.Sometimes the most productive thing you could possibly do right now is to brainstorm a mio random ideas, play with a few of them, watch them fail before your eyes, and then come to a more refi ned conclusion of what it is youre actually trying to build or get done. In many cases, people would see this as an afternoon failure. But on the contrary, it is necessary in order to better understand whatever it is youre doing.Dont fight yourself when that happens.4. Measure, measure, measureIf you cant measure it, dont do it.This is something my own mentors have gone to great lengths to teach me, and rightfully so. If you cant measure it, you dont know how to improve it - or worse, you spend too much time on the scenic road and you never actually reach a point of conclusion. Measurement doesnt always have to do with time, or money, or something tangible.Sometimes, the best way to measure is to simply look back at old pieces of work and see how and where youve improved stylistically. But be conscious of measurement, so that you can tweak as you go along and see where you can become more efficient.5. Share what youre working on - for feedbackFor the longest time, I never wanted to share or talk about anything I was working on.I thought it was bad luck or would take me out of my flow. And Ill admit, there are those moments when your ideas are best left to ruminate in your own head, but you should bedrngnis be hesitant to share what youre working on. Feedback is extremely important, and a lot of time can be saved by a single conversation where someone points out, very clearly, something that isnt working. It might not be easy to hear in the moment, but you will be thankful for it later.6. Practice InpublicWhen we talk about productivity, we often think of ways to seclude ourselves in our bedroom or office, alone, in the dark, with only the light of our laptop to keep us illuminated. But sometimes that approach actually ends up netting a poor return on your time investment because you arent getting outside feedback. Find ways to practice in public.Use the digital tools we have access to, like social media, to release test versions of whatever it is youre working on Whether thats a book, an album, a startup, a comedy sketch, anything.Practicing in public gives you feedback, and feedback speeds up the learning and development process.7. CaffeineNeed we really explain the productivity benefits of a black coffee with an extra shot of espresso?8. MusicTo some, this would be a distraction, but I have always found light instrumental music in the background (Beethoven and Mozart, especially)to be quite the productivity booster. As long as it isnt filled with catchy melodies that take you out of the task at hand, music can be like that whirring fan in the background that abroll-container-transport-system as a subtle cue to your subconscious to stay on the task at hand.9. TakeBreaksAgain, being productive does not necessarily mean sitting still for eight straight hours. You might be able to swing that for a day or two, but you are not a robot. You will burn out. Productivity is all about flow. Its about knowing your limits and being conscious of how to move within your own constraints.Maybe you need to take 10-minute breaks after every 50 minutes of focusGreat. Do that.Or maybe you can work for four hours no problem, but then you need to take the afternoon before diving into another four-hour work session at night.Great. Do that.Do what works for you, and you only. This isnt about being productive based on someone elses habits or way of doing things. This is about knowing yourself, and using your habits to your advantage.10. Create aroutineIt is said the best musicians, athletes, innovators, etc., follow a daily routine that trains their subconscious to know when it is time to work and when it is time to relax. There is absolutely something to be said for always practicing at the same time, or always going to the gym at the same time, or always writing at the same time, every day. You train yourself to know, as soon as that hour strikes, to fall into that mode of focus required to do your best work.Trying to be productive when one d ay you are working in the morning, the next day youre working at night, the next day youre working in the middle of the day, it gets exhausting. Routine is extremely helpful, and inherently removes the distraction of adjustment to something new.Consistency is what youre after. This article originally appeared on Inc Magazine. You might also enjoyNew neuroscience reveals 4 rituals that will make you happyStrangers know your social class in the first seven words you say, study finds10 lessons from jngste Franklins daily schedule that will double your productivityThe worst mistakes you can make in an interview, according to 12 CEOs10 habits of mentally strong people

The Man Behind the Vacuum Cleaner

The Man Behind the Vacuum Cleaner The Man Behind the Vacuum Cleaner The Man Behind the Vacuum Cleaner When Dyson customer and homeowner Caryn Solomon of Lagrangeville, NY, tested the DC Series Dyson vacuum cleaner for the first time, she marveled at its ability to steer around tables and chairs. I knew right away that I had to own one of those vacuum cleaners, she says. What soldSolomon on the machine is The Ball, Dysons solution to the restricted forward and backward movement of the conventional upright vacuum cleaner. Instead of four fixed wheels, the Dyson rides on a glass-reinforced polypropylene ball, enabling easier steering and improved maneuverability. Dysons Ball technology, few would argue, is one of the most innovative product designs to enter the consumer marketplace in the last few years.Behind the Dyson vacuum cleaner is a man and company that place engineering and neuschpfung front and center in the corporate mission. To British-born James Dyson, innovation is the end p roduct of thinking, testing, experimenting, researching and good old-fashioned hard work and perseverance. In designing the suction capability of the DC Series vacuum cleaner, Dyson developed a total of 5,127 patents over five years, before arriving at the Root Cyclone technology that spins dirt out of the air rather than relying on bags and filters to trap debris.Image courtesy of Dyson.Innovation LabAt Dyson headquarters in Wiltshire, UK, 600 engineers are busy each day developing new ideas and technology. The engineers disassemble and reassemble the vacuum cleaners and other Dyson products, test components, and carry out other tasks in a search for continuous improvement. In addition to vacuum cleaners, the company makes washing machines, fans, heaters, and hand dryers. The AB01 hand dryer is another technology innovation, featuring a digital motor that produces a high-speed sheet of cool air that dries hands in twelve seconds, while using less energy than conventional warm-air systems. To spur innovation, Dyson groups his engineers together in one space, mingling product designers and technical specialists, creating a workspace that fosters communication and the free flow of concepts and ideas. James Dyson has infused risk-taking in the DNA of the company, believing that risk is an essential building block for innovation and invention. To compete, countries must take risks, Dyson said recently. Without taking risks, you dont generate long-term wealth.Another innovation is the Dyson fan.Industrial ArtsJames Dyson was born in 1947 in Cromer, Norfolk, UK. In 1966, he enrolled in the esteemed Royal College of Art in London, where Dyson initially studied architecture and interior design before moving into engineering. He developed several products and systems for the maritime industry while at the Royal College of Art, including a high-speed landing craft and a boat-launching device. Later, Dyson developed an innovation of the wheelbarrow, featuring a large pne umatic ball enabling maneuverability in mud and wet sand.To Dyson, engineering is all about invention. Through his four years of education and training at the Royal College of Art and into professional practice, he displayed a keen passion for mastering how things work and how certain things can work better. An innate problem solver, Dyson developed the basic concept for the Root Cyclone technology in his vacuum cleaners on a visit to a saw mill. There, he observed the large cyclone atop the roof of the mill spinning sawdust out of the air and collecting it in a chamber, and he began to think about adapting the process to vacuum cleaners. The DC Series vacuum cleaners feature three stages of cyclonic separation and powerful centrifugal forces and air velocity to capture the smallest particles of dust.Shared Mission with ASMEWhile growing a successful global company and amassing a $1-billion personal fortune, James Dyson has become a tireless advocate for technology-based economic d evelopment. He believes governments have an important role to play in inspiring innovation, and in the U.S., he has called for government-supported investments in technology projects, particularly in infrastructure and energy.Dyson also believes there is a shortage of engineers necessary to boost economic growth. If we are to have an economy which features a greater amount of technocratic horsepower, then the supply of young people who set their sights on becoming engineers needs to be increased, he said.To make a difference in this area, Dyson in 2002 established the James Dyson Foundation, which aims to inspire young people to study engineering and enter the workforce as engineers. Although the focus of the foundation is on supporting education in Great Britain, the institution has broadened its reach internationally and is becoming active in the U.S. In July 2011, the foundation hosted a design workshop for middle school students at the Sir Miles Davis Academy in Chicago, IL,site of the companys U.S. headquarters. In the program, engineering mentors demonstrated the processes involved in 3-D printing and robotics design, and introduced Dysons Engineering Box, a training tool that challenges young people to dismantle and reassemble mechanical devices.Like ASME, James Dyson is committed to education outreach instilling the seeds of creativity and ingenuity in young minds to grow the next generation of engineers and innovators. Today, a household vacuum cleaner that performs unlike any othertomorrow, who knows? To compete, countries must take risks. Without taking risks, you dont generate long-term wealth.James Dyson

The Easy Secret to Making Yourself Better at Anything

The Easy Secret to Making Yourself Better at AnythingThe Easy Secret to Making Yourself Better at AnythingSeptember is Professional Development Month at The Muse Check in all month for ways to boost your skills, get ahead at work, and be the best professional you can possibly be.Im a big believer in self-reflection, and Im all about finding ways to make things (including myself) better whenever possible. The reality is, none of us are perfect. Whether its for work or personal development, theres always opportunity for growth. And the question for fruchtwein people isnt if they can do something to improve, but how. Both research and trial and error suggest that one of the best ways to make something more effective is to measure it. So, why not apply this to your own life? A simple tactic that Ive recently adopted is creating my own personal feedback system. How it WorksAt the end of the day, week, meeting, event, you-name-it, rate how you think it went on a scale of one to 10. If it wel chesnt a 10, ask yourself What would have made it a 10?Thats it.Putting a number on an intangible experience suddenly makes what was amazing or not so amazing about it a lot more clear. When you acknowledge that things didnt go perfectly, you accept the fact that theres room for improvement, and more importantly, what that improvement might look like. Its an insanely easy way to gain clarity, and the approach shines a bright light on exactly what you can do differently next time. In ActionThink back to your brde team discussion. If youd score your performance an eight out of 10, what could have made it a 10? Talking a tiny bit less and listening more to the great ideas being shared? Or maybe not being afraid to speak up when you had a really great idea? Keep that in mind next time.If youre new at sales, perhaps your most recent pitch was a six. So what would a solid 10 look like? Starting off a little less aggressively in the beginning and instead asking more questions to get a bett er sense of your customers needs? You can bet thatll happen in your next pitch. Perhaps you met a few interesting people at that networking event last week- good but not great, a seven. What would have made your time more worthwhile? Making your way around the room more instead of spending so much time with that one person you already knew? There you go.This doesnt only apply to professional improvement- take a moment to zoom out and think back to the last year. Taken as a whole, how does it stack up, and how could it have been better? A five or an eight, youll know what made it so. Whether its spending more time with family or setting personal goals earlier, adjusting your priorities for the year ahead is so much easier.cOn the flip side, if any experience did deserve a perfect 10 (be honest), then youve got all the more reason to pat yourself on the back. You did your best, and it couldnt have gone any better- congratulations Consistently ranking my own performance on this scale h as been the most effective and powerful way Ive found to fine-tune any areas of improvement. Best of all, rating yourself and facing imperfections is much less intimidating than having someone else (read your boss) do it for you. As long as you know what getting better looks like and make an active effort towards it, youll be golden.Photo of personal growth courtesy of Shutterstock.

7 effective thought-stopping techniques for anxiety

7 effective thought-stopping techniques for anxiety7 effective thought-stopping techniques for anxietyAnxiety is one of the fruchtwein common issues I hear about from my clients, one that many people have on a regular, sometimes daily, basis. Of curse, anxiety is a normal part of the human experience, and it can be ahealthy, biological reaction to environmental stressors. The problem is when that reaction switches from one of manageable, temporary worry or stress to heightened, intolerable panic. The latter can interfere with work, social activities, and personal relationships. Sometimes anxiety can make it incredibly difficult to function as we normally do, and this is a very scary and uncomfortable feeling.Follow Ladders on FlipboardFollow Ladders magazines on Flipboard covering Happiness, Productivity, Job Satisfaction, Neuroscience, and moreOne of the most effective ways to curb anxiety in the moment is thought-stopping - a strategy that interruptscatastrophic thinkingto allow ou r minds a few moments of clarity to thinkthroughthe anxiety. Here are seven ways to do it1.Scattered countingCounting up (or down) to 10 is a great wayto handle anger, but its not as effective for anxiety because the process is so automatic. While were counting chronologically, our minds still have the capacity to ruminate on whatever is causing our anxiety. A better technique is scattered counting. Start with any number and then jump around - 14, 89, 30, 57, etc. It takes more concentration to come up with the next number when you have to think about what it will be, and this helps take your mind off the thoughts that are troubling you.2. Verbal interruptionThe traditional way to stop thoughts in their tracks is with a verbal interruption. This could be literally spoken out loud, if you feel comfortable doing so, or spoken to yourself in your head. Shouting stop or enough or not now when your worries begin to take over, forces you to take a pause. This can be done as many times as you need to calm your mind.3. Positive self-talkIf your thoughts are particularly negative or scary, try restructuring them into ones that empower you. Instead of thinking Im so nervous about bombing this presentation at work, try thinking its okay to be nervous and I can deal with this. Coach yourself through each anxious thought until your anxiety subsides, and then congratulate yourself on getting through it.4. Whats the worst that could happen?Anxiety often takes us to the worst-case scenario. We go from feeling nervous about a presentation at work to worrying about performing badly to worrying about losing our job entirely. If youre able, imagine going to that worst-case scenario. What would happen if you didlose your job? How would you handle it? What kind of plan would you make to revamp your resume, network with other people in your industry, and apply for new positions? Picturing yourself tackling the imagined worst possibility often gives us confidence thateven ifthe wors t were to happen, we would still be able to handle it.5. Auditory distractionOur obsessive thoughts can be so loud in our head, and one great way to drown them out is by listening to something else. Put on your favorite song, your favorite podcast, or an audio book you find interesting and let the sounds coming out of your headphones squash the sounds of your anxiety.6. Muscle isolationAnxiety clogs our minds with unwanted thoughts and obsessions, and keeps us stuck in our heads. By feeling our body intentionally through muscle isolation, we can draw the attention away from our brain and into different parts of our body.First, sit comfortably in a chair or on the edge of your bed. You can close your eyes if that feels natural to you. Then, starting with your toes, squeeze and hold those muscles and count to five slowly. At five, release the muscles and feel your toes completely relax. Repeat this process up your body from your feet to your calves to your thighs to your abdomen, all the way up to your head and back down to your arms, hands, and fingers. An exercise like this relieves some of the tension in your brain by releasing it from your body.7. Meditation (It really does work)Maybe youve had a friend or a therapist recommend meditation to alleviate anxiety. Maybe you rolled your eyes at the idea thinking that it would never work for you. Science hasproventhat it does Regular meditation changes the structure of the brain and strengthens your ability to combat strong emotions like anxiety. Start by practicing mindful breathing for five minutes a day. You can picture your anxious thoughts like clouds, drifting by you, or like cars passing on the road. Over time, you can work up to 10 minutes, 20, or even an hour of meditation. When anxiety strikes, it can be difficult not to give in to the obsessive what-if thoughts that consume your attention. Its an uncomfortable experience that is hard to ignore, but with a little practice using thought-stopping exercises, those worries might seem a little less frightening. This article originally appeared on Talkspace. You might also enjoyNew neuroscience reveals 4 rituals that will make you happyStrangers know your social class in the first seven words you say, study finds10 lessons from Benjamin Franklins daily schedule that will double your productivityThe worst mistakes you can make in an interview, according to 12 CEOs10 habits of mentally strong people

Pros and Cons of Employee Profit Sharing

Pros and Cons of Employee Profit SharingPros and Cons of Employee Profit SharingProfit sharing is an example of a variable pay plan. In profit sharing, company leadership designates a percentage of annual profits as a designated pool of money to share with employees. Or, it can bea portion of employees such as executives or managers and those above them as situated on an organization chart. The pool of money generated is then divided across the covered employees using a formula for distribution. This formula can vary from company to company. Employees can either share in terms of stocks and bonds. Or, of course, straight cash. Who Benefits the Most Profit sharing, when distributed as a percentage of annual pay- a common practice- results in less money shared among employees holding lower paying jobs and higher amounts shared with highly compensated employees. A highly-paid senior employee can sometimes see very significant profit-sharing bonuses. For example, 40 or 50 percent ofa senior executives annual salary is elend uncommon. However, a lower level employee may only see 1 to 2 percent of his salary as his part of the companys profit sharing. Why Upper Management Receives More of the Profits The disparity between a 40 percent share and 2 percent share reflects the belief that more highly compensated employees are responsible for managing the company, making decisions, taking more risk, and providing leadership to the other employees. While alower level employee is secure that his salarywill be the same year after year (perhaps with a modest increase) a high-level employee knows that if they dont help the company succeed, their compensation may decrease significantly. When Profit Sharing Payments Are Made Profit sharing payments are generally made only if the company has been profitable for the time period specified, or when an employment contract with a labor union requires it, or when a senior employee requires the compensation. For people witho ut contracts, the company can change the terms of the plan at will. Profit sharing usually occurs annually after the final results for the annual company profitability have been calculated. However, some organizations pay the profit sharing dollars quarterly based on the premise that employee recognition is most effective when it occurs closer to the events it recognizes. Setting up Your Plan Employers can choose how to set up their profit-sharing plans, but they must set up an official plan with the relevant documents. TheDepartment of Laborrecommends that you Adopt a written plan documentArrange a trust for the plans assetsDevelop a record keeping systemProvide plan information to employees eligible to participate Companies must keep strict records and have a strict fiduciary responsibility for the plan. Plan documents are legal documents that must be followed exactly. Companies are free to change their plans, but they must do so with the proper oversight. Pros of Profit Sh aring The positive impact of profit sharing is that it sends the message that all of the employees are working together on the same team. The employees have the same goals and are rewarded equivalently to reinforce this shared tafelgeschirr to customers. Employees who know that they will receive financial rewards if the company does well are more likely to be motivated to help the company succeed- they have a vested interest in their companys success. For example, a sales department that pays commissions based on individual employee performance fails to build this sense of team. Each employee is on his or her own- and they act accordingly. However, an employer that is committed to fostering team and cooperation among employees shares the commissions earned with all of the departments employees. Cons of Profit Sharing The weakness of profit sharing plans is that individual employees cant see how their own work and actions impact the profitability of the company. Consequently, wh ile employees enjoy receiving their profit sharing money, it gradually becomes more of an entitlement than a motivational factor. While senior-level employees are aware of what is going on and make decisions that make impact the bottom line, thats not the case with the front line receptionist. He or she may not understand that their interactions with vendors, clients, and random people actually make a difference in the profitability of the company. Also, with profit sharing, employees receive the profit sharing money regardless of their performance or contribution, so theres no reason to improve ones performance.

How to Develop Long-Term Employees - Spark Hire

How to Develop Long-Term Employees - Spark HireAny business leader knows that turnover can be detrimental to a companys long-term productivity. When employees come and go, quality isnt consistent and the overall company culture suffers. Fortunately, there are a few strategies that any manager or business owner can employ in order to get employees to love their job and want to stick around for the long run. These techniques includeDeveloping a personal connectionIts no secret that new hires do better when they feel as if they know their management team on a deeper level than just a How are you? in the cafeteria. In order to help that new team member feel like a valuable part of the company, management professionals should connect with them early on. Whether this includes providing guidance about doing the job successfully or just talking with them about how things are going so far, this personal connection helps an employee to know that they are valued and that they matter.Introduce t hem aroundFor many people, feeling a part of the team comes down to getting to know co-workers. This can be challenging if the rest of the team has worked at the company for years. To make it easier, bring the new hire through the office on their first day and introduce them to their new co-workers. Its also good to appoint a point person who can tackle any questions or issues that the new employee may encounter as they get going.Treat them as equalsNew hires who constantly hear about the fact that theyre new may take longer to assimilate into company culture than those who are welcomed in and treated just like any other team member right away. While it is fine to ask new staffers if they have questions, they should feel as if their opinion matters just as much as any other employee. Creating a separation between old and new team members can alienate staffers, and may cause cliques to form.Make sure duties are clearEmployees who never really know what their job entails or how succes s will be measured tend to feel frustrated more easily and more quickly than someone who knows exactly what is expected of him and how to do it. Taking time to write down a persons job description and how they will be evaluated is an important tool for making a new hires transition easier. When expectations are clear, its easier to deliver results.Ultimately, a persons first few weeks on the job can help to set the tone for the rest of their time at that office. For this reason, hiring managers and senior employees should make it a point to ensure that the adjustment process is easy. This helps to develop employees who will stay on hauptplatine for the long haul. How do you make sure your new hires have an easy transition? Let us know in the comments.

AWOL and Desertion

AWOL and DesertionAWOL and DesertionSo why do so many people confuse desertion and AWOL? Its because the services administratively classify absent members as deserters once they have been gone for 30 days. Deserter Information Point Once a member goes absent, each of the military services enters the members information into their DIP (Deserter Information Point). At that time, the services take certain actions, such as stopping the members pay and allowances and contacting family members in an attempt to locate the absent member and convince them to return to their unit. On the 30th day, the member is dropped from the unit rolls, (meaning the unit can fill the empty slot with a new person), and administratively classified as a deserter. At that point, the DIP-folks electronically enter the information into the Wanted Persons File in the FBIs National Crime Information Center (NCIC) computer. That means the information is available to every law enforcement agency in the United Sta tes, and the member becomes a wanted person, subject to arrest by any police officer. United States Code, Title 10, Section 808 states Any civil officer having authority to apprehend offenders under the laws of the United States or of a State, Commonwealth, possession, or the District of Columbia may summarily apprehend a deserter from the armed forces and deliver him into the custody of those forces. The DIP center also sends the information to the Department of State, who then cancels any passports the member may have. The military doesnt necessarily have to wait the full 30 days before administratively classifying an absent member as a deserter. If the facts and circumstances show that the member intends to remain away permanently (an example would be if they left a note saying they were never going to return), then the member can immediately be classified as such. Also, if he/she has gone to or remains in a foreign country and, while in the foreign country, has requested, appli ed for, or accepted, any type of asylum or residence permit from that country, they are immediately reclassified as a deserter. Other factors, such as whether the member is awaiting planung for other military crimes at the time of AWOL, or if the member escapes from military prison, can also result in immediate classification as a deserter. The most significant factor about administrative classification as a deserter is the shift in burden of proof. If a member, who has been absent for 30 days or less is tried by court-martial, the burden of proof that the member intended to remain away from military control rests on the prosecution. To support a guilty verdict for desertion (vice AWOL), the prosecution would have to prove (beyond a reasonable doubt), that the member intended to remain away from the military forever. However, once the absentee has been administratively declared a deserter, the burden of proof shifts to the defense. The court is allowed to assume that the member int ended to remain away permanently unless the defense can provide clear evidence that the member intended to return to military control.

These applicant tracking systems (ATS) screen out or reject an estimated 70 percent or more of the resumes submitt ed either because the documents dont reflect the desired qualifications or are formatted in a way that the system cant digest the information. Dont leave off the dates of your employment. Systems may be screening based on the amount of experience required for a particular job.Keep the format simple and avoid fancy graphics. Plain text Word documents are usually the most easily digested by automated tracking systems.PDFs can be troublesome for automated tracking systems.Use a font size of at least 11 points and margins of at least one inch on all sides. You can usually utilize a somewhat longer document than the traditional 1- or 2-page resume since length doesnt typically matter for applicant tracking systems. fruchtwein systems will generate a summary of your resume data for decision-makers and not yield your actual resume. However, some employers will retrieve your actual document and view it online. To account for either case, use a simple but attractive format and avoid unnecessary and flowery language that will distract the reader from focusing on your most essential qualifications. Some employers also use software to search the web and assess your social media presence. Cultivate your brand online.Make sure the facts represented through your social media profiles are consistent with your resume and applications.Develop and save a human eyes only version of your resume for small employers and when you are dropping off resumes or networking. You also should bring a few extra copies of your traditional resume to your interviews.Dont put all your eggs in the automated online application basket. Regardless of how well your resume is designed to penetrate applicant tracking systems, you st ill should place a high priority on networking strategies.Given the flood of online resumes submitted to employers, it helps to have advocates inside organizations pointing out their view that you are a viable candidate. Most employers have an employee referral program, and an endorsement by a member of their staff might enable you to bypass an ATS screen.
